Author and storyteller Jim Duffy of Secrets of the Eastern Shore will share some of his favorite “Tales from Delmarva” in a lunchtime talk and discussion on Mon., May 8 at the Church of the Nazarene in Denton, Md. The occasion is an open-to-the-public meeting of the local chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons.
The author of five books focused on travel and history topics on the Delmarva Peninsula, Duffy has given presentations along these lines in dozens of towns up and down the Peninsula in recent years. The “Tales from Delmarva” talk is something of a greatest-hits collection featuring his most popular storytelling topics, which stretch from down on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to the uppermost reaches of the Eastern Shore and over in Southern Delaware. Duffy’s speaking style is casual and humorous. Audience participation and discussion are very much encouraged.
A covered-dish lunch begins at noon, followed by the presentation at 12:45pm. The Church of the Nazarene is at 10660 Greensboro Rd. in Denton. For questions about the event email Mary Lou Schoonover:
