One of the trips in my new book, Eastern Shore Road Trips 2: 26 More One-Day Adventures on Delmarva, is a tour of baseball history on the Eastern Shore and in Delaware that tells the stories of four members of the Hall of Fame. One of those is Judy Johnson, who was born in Snow Hill, Md. and raised in Delaware on his way to stardom in the Negro Leagues.

Jim Duffy of Secrets of the Eastern Shore recently went on Good Day Delmarva on WBOC-TV to talk about Johnson’s life and times. You can watch the segment here:

The other hall of famers on this trip at Frank Baker (Trappe, Md.), Jimmie Fox (Sudlersville, Md.), and Vic Gazaway (Newark, Del.). There’s a stop in Chestertown as well to revisit the career of “Swish” Nicholson.
