In other parts of the world, the first chilly nights of autumn bring an end to outdoor festival season. But when cold winds start blowing here on Delmarva, it’s time to break out an extra layer or two and head out to slurp down bivalves and beer. There are dozens of oyster festivals between October and March–some outdoors, some indoors. Here are a few of the more notable options.

First, a public service announcement. My book, Shore Fun! The Wanderer’s Guide to Delmarva, connects you with 125+ destinations around the peninsula and 150+ annual events. The events are broken out conveniently by season, so they’ll be at your fingertips whenever you need them and you won’t have to rely on stumbling into some random social media post to figure out what’s going on a few towns over. Info on the book here.
