Author and storyteller Jim Duffy of Secrets of the Eastern Shore will share the stories of “Delmarva’s Great Dames” in a talk and discussion on Sat., Oct. 16 at the library in Frankford, Del. The event begins at 12:30pm.
Duffy is the author of two collections of Eastern Shore Road Trips, as well as Tubman Travels: 32 Underground Railroad Journeys on Delmarva. More info about his books can be found here.
The Frankford Public Library is located at 8 Main Street. Frankford is located a little ways west of Bethany Beach, just below the town of Dagsboro.
Secrets of the Eastern Shore is a homegrown business based in Cambridge, Md. that celebrates the Delmarva Peninsula in stories, photographs, and products. Its mission is to inspire people to explore the Peninsula and appreciate the incredible things that have happened in its towns, on its farms, and along its waterways over the centuries.
Duffy has given presentations along these lines on various topics in dozens of towns up and down the Peninsula in recent years. The “Great Dames” talk focuses on interesting women of the Delmarva Peninsula. His speaking style is casual and humorous. Audience participation and discussion are very much encouraged.
Duffy will have copies of his books on hand for sale during a book-signing after the talk. Audience members are also welcome to bring their copies of his books to the event for an autograph.
